Jekyll Island Bluegrass Festival

Thursday through Saturday on the glorious Coastal Georgia Jekyll Island thousands of bluegrass lovers are hoping to see their favorite stars and performers. Me, too! Here's my new Savannah Secret Blog set up especially to post photos and videos about my visiting the Coastal Georgia, including Savannah and the Golden Islands.

I will research the Coastal Georgia and the Golden Islands starting from Richmond Hill - the city that Henry Ford built for his wife, then driving off to see Skidaway Island Marine Biology Institute and Marina, Historical Fort McAlister, Sunbury, and finally down to Darien, Brunswick and the Golden Islands. Driving Around Dahlonega

Today we visit Dahlonega. Dahlonega is a university town in Northeast Georgia, in the Georgia mountains. This moituby drive-through video features Dahlonega-located North Georgia State University campus, located in downtown Dahlonega area. We were driving around the campus looking for available apartments to rent for my younger son Michael. Local newspaper run classified ads: Easy Find and Rent North Georgia College & State University Apartments For Rent for new Students, Search Now For Student Dahlonega Apartments ... The campus was closed that day, it was Sunday December 6, 2009 in Dahlonega, so not a single student apartment for rent was found ...

The beautiful Dahlonega, Georgia is a real jewel set high in the North Georgia mountains with genuine folk craft arts, shopping, lodging, dining and wine-tasting on the local wineries. There ia a plenty of things to do in Dahlonega when you're a student of the NGSU.

It is cold already in Atlanta. Temperatures falling below freezing. The leaves on trees are gone, the wild geese honking above in the sky making their way to the warmer grounds. Here are some useful tips how to stay warm in winter.

Seal off the cracks, wear multiple layers of loose clothes, use more blankets and sheep's wool socks. Drink more coffee and hot tea.

Black Friday Night Out at BestBuy

Black Friday night at Atlanta's Best Buy store. Crowds of people streaming into an Atlanta BestBu store hoping to grab best deals on GPS, plasma TV, and Gibson guitars. It was dark and cold, I was wrapped into multiple layers of blankets and floor-rugs, inside my frozen brains were lurking images of warm delicious Thanksgiving turkeys - a gift from grateful Native Americans to our forefathers ... and a Gibson guitar. I needed that guitar to do my own version of "Man of Constant Sorrow", just like those black-bearded guys in blue coveralls doing on stage...

Harvest Table Restaurant in Dacula

This coming Wednesday I will see the performance of the local bluegrass band from Dacula - The Skillet Lickers! I took some pictures of the venue - The Harvest Table Restaurant in Dacula from outside, 2nd Avenue, just to see where to go in a complete darkness - the show time is from 6.30pm to 8.30 pm. And it's gonna be real dark in Dacula (established 1905)

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to take pictures inside the restaurant ... so I suppose I needed to apply for a special permit to do so - with the local police department, sheriff's office of the city of Dacula? Looks like the whole Dacula population is less than 50 people. So that would be no problem at all to locate the right people.

Movie editing and publishing software

What movie editing and publishing software is available to use with all those cameras and camcorders that we bought on Black Friday or received from our friends and relatives as a perfect Christmas gift?

Magix is not good enough, Pinnacle Studio is just horrible! It crashes your computer and simply don't work. In order to seduce would-be buyers they stuff their software box with several square yards of green fabric as though you already on your way to green-screen video effects ... Adobe editor as always is overblown and overpriced, Windows gave up and went missing. Corel bought Ulead and turned that video editor into something very nice, stable and at a very affordable price rate. Sony offers Vega - very high quality and close to professional levels, but way too pricey for regular folks.

I recommend using Corel video editor, or Sony Vega if you really need money to spend. For very hard-core beginners I suggest the easy and simplest to use Muvee. For Christmas time gifts they offer muvee Reveal. This video editing program creates personalized, professional looking home movies in a few quick steps. With automatic motion and face detection, your photos and video are synced to the beat of your favorite music. They provide users with hundreds of styles and templates - ready to use and very nice looking. Let me know if you do not agree with my opinion :)

Simple and Easy Video Software

On this yutlanta weblog you see videos taped edited and posted on YouTube by myself. If you wish to publish your movies you need a good movie editing and publishing software, simple, easy to use and affordable. And here it is: Go to Muvies. I normally use various cameras and camcorders, but never with built-in editing software. Because I don't want to let my camera edit pictures and clips that I shot myself! Camera is stupid however smart its manufacturers claim it to be. Man is smarter than Camera!

Where do I book Hot Air Balloon?

I suddenly got a great idea: what if I fly over the top of Stone Mountain taking still pictures of it and shooting airy videos of this huge granite outcropping dating back to where Africa (Northern part of it ) and Georgia Florida (Appalachia) were united - 600 million years ago!
